Hedgehog cross stitch

Just a quick article today to share a sewing project I have been working on for the past few months.

I signed up on Pinterest only a few months ago (and on Instagram just three weeks ago!) thanks to my friend Manon’s advice and didn’t understand why I hadn’t done it sooner. I LOVE Pinterest. It gives me so many ideas! The only problem is that I sometimes feel like my mind will overflow with ideas because I can’t keep up. I would need to sew several hours a day in order to do everything I’d like to!

After years of finding it difficult to find cross stich patterns I actually like (so many are old fashioned, too big or just not very pretty in my opinion) I was so glad to discover that so many people out there had modern and fun grids to share!

Anyway, my mom saw one of the very many patterns I pinned and called me one day to ask me to reproduce this hedgehog cross stitch for her birthday. Of course I was very happy to oblige!

I loved the original design but wanted to make mine slightly more “chocolately brown” rather than brown grey.

So I changed most (ok, all) of the colours without being quite sure of what it would look like in the end. I am quite proud of the result, especially since it matched perfectly — and randomly — a frame I had bought over a year ago at a second hand sale.

I hope you like it!
